62. Community Service Volunteers Join this elist to hear about upcoming community service opportunities for MVHS students
63. Computer Science Club A club focused on promoting and supporting the learning of computer science. We work as a team to teach other students, create apps, enter in competitions, and contribute to the community.
64. Ignition Comp Sci Ignition is a computer science club filled with people eager to learn to program and apply it. This is accomplished through our three main missions: to enter competitions, creating and learning from projects in various fields such as machine learning or IoT, teach youth through programs like CoderDojo, and to learn in club meetings with lectures in various programming languages.
65. COPS Council of Presidents - every club advisor, president and officer should subscribe.

Drama Board Drama Board is the club in charge of assisting administration in funding events, advertising events, and problem solving issues that are related to Acting I & II, Stagecraft I & II, the Fall Play, and the Spring Play. We strive to get the community more involved in the theatre, and to strengthen our theatre program Everyone is welcome to join us at Drama Board meetings and voice their opinions on topics regarding the MVHS drama program!
67. Free the Children Club This club is dedicated to improving the lives of impoverished people around the world. Proceeds from fundraisers help people in need.
68. Girls Who Code Girls Who Code is an MVHS club associated with the organization Girls Who Code. Aside from learning new coding languages and creating projects, we also discuss the role of women in STEM and take field trips to tech companies.

70. Mock Trial To provide students with a hands on experience in the courtroom to further their understanding of our legal system.
71. Science Olympiad The Science Olympiad club competes each year against other high school students throughout California in various science topics including anatomy, astronomy, biology, chemistry, earth sciences, engineering, and physics. For more information contact Kelyn Wood.
72. Queer-Straight Alliance The purpose of the queer-straight alliance is to create a safe space on campus and to educate the MVHS and Mountain View community on LGBTQ issues in an effort to increase understanding and acceptance.
73. Robotics Club Participates in various robotics events throughout the year with the main emphasis being preparing for the FIRST High School Robotics competition every year in March.
74. Speech and Debate Team Participates in speech and debate tournaments throughout the year. Students from both MVHS and LAHS are on this team.
75. Usangule Food for Thought Club The Usangule Food for Thought club is a group of students dedicated to building a self-sustaining food source and aiding in providing other health needs with the people living in the area surrounding Usangule Secondary School in Tanzania. We will be fundraising and spreading awareness in our community to make this goal a reality.

76. MVHS: Help In A Pinch Contact list for when MVHS needs your help. An email will go out on this list. Please reply if you are able to help.
77. Attendance Phone/Filing Weekly or bi-weekly; take messages from answering machine and file attendance slips

79. Bakers/Food Several times/year; typically bake homemade cookies for specific events. Just reply to an email if you can bake for a particular event, you are not commited to volunteer each time food is needed.
80. Carbon-Free Commute Committee Information and volunteer opportunities to promote and support environmentally-friendly ways to get to school.

82. CCC (College & Career Center) Weekly; file, special projects, help students.

86. Graduation Reception (non-senior parents) June; reception for graduates/guests - set up, serving, clean up
87. GradNight Lunch Cart
Lunch Volunteers
Once a month; serve food to students at the pizza cart or snack bar. Profits go to GradNight.

91. Opening of School August; collating, copying, packet/book distribution to students
92. Safe School Initiative Committee member: research and promote initiatives to keep school a safe environment (no drugs/violence/etc.)
93. School Garden Late Fall 2008: Parents and students will help to build and fill planter boxes, spread and compacting "goldfines" for the walkways, plant the native plants, spread mulch, and hand water the plants for the first week after planting.
94. Senior Awards Night June; set up and clean up
95. Staff Appreciation: Fall soup & salad October/November: Make soup for staff during parent/teacher conferences.

Usage Policy

Elist Description:

MVHS teachers, parents, and student groups use elists to communicate about classes, after school activities, and volunteer work.

  • You can join as many elists with as many email addresses as you like.
  • If your email address changes, please update elist memberships:
    1. Sign up for (join) all your lists using your new e-mail addresss
    2. Leave all your lists using your old e-mail address
  • Forgotten which elists you're on? Fill in your e-mail address above and click on "Show me my elist subscriptions"
Exchange

Request + Confirmation:

When you join or leave an elist, we'll send you an email asking you to confirm your request. If you ignore the email, no action will be taken. This procedure prevents unauthorized changes.

Archiving:

Email for most elists is archived. To view these saved emails, click on Archives at the top of this page.

Privacy Policy

Privacy & Usage Policy:

  • You may not use any elist on this website to send advertising or solicitation materials.
  • We will never, under any circumstances, intentionally publish, sell, trade, or give away your name, email address, or any information you give us.
Burst

Don't worry, the system won't break...

  • If you join tthe same elist twice with the same email address, the system will figure it out. You won't get duplicate emails!
  • If you leave an elist of which you are not a member, you will not cause a problem.
  • If your email account is cancelled by your former ISP or employer, the system will delete your old email address from the appropriate elists.
