75. Apollo Music Club Apollo is a student-run organization based on community service. We aim to spread our knowledge and love for music by providing lessons for 5th graders at Castro Elementary.
76. The Beatles Club The Beatles Club is a group of fans who come together and listen to music, share interests and activities, and raise money for the MVHS music department as a community service.

83. Environmental Club Environmental Club engages in and promotes eco-friendly policies, practices and activities to fellow students, teachers and community members as members work toward their collective goal of a greener environment.
84. Everytown Club The MVHS Everytown Club is devoted to effecting social change by addressing prejudice: racism, sexism, homophobia, etc. We seek to engage members of the MVHS community to spread awareness of the problems with stereotypes and hate crimes.

86. House of Representatives This list is for all students who will represent their second period class in the House of Representatives. Minutes and reminders will be sent using this elist.
87. Howl Club Promotes youth community activism and combates apathy. We support contemporary philanthropic causes and foster an academic understanding of 20th century countercultural influences, most notably bohemians, beatniks, and hippies.

89. Knitters for Newbies Knitters for Newbies get together and knit. We knit hats for newborns or premies in the NICU at Packard Hospital and scarves for cancer patients. Beginning knitters are welcome!

92. Mock Trial To provide students with a hands on experience in the courtroom to further their understanding of our legal system.

94. NAHS Club National Art Honor Society
95. POD Leaders Communications to Juniors and Seniors who are leaders of Frosh Orientation.
96. Robotics Club Participates in various robotics events throughout the year with the main emphasis being preparing for the FIRST High School Robotics competition every year in March.
97. Science Olympiad The Science Olympiad team aims to encourage student excitement in science through participation in area science competitions as well as through service that inspires others to pursue STEM education. Contact: Izzie Baney or Dr. Krishna
98. Speech and Debate Team Participates in speech and debate tournaments throughout the year. Students from both MVHS and LAHS are on this team.

Once a month; serve food to students at the pizza cart or snack bar. Profits go to GradNight.

114. MVLA H.S. Foundation September; caller for the phone-a-thon fundraiser for the Mountain View/Los Altos High School Foundation.
116. Office Greeter This job entails sitting in the Front Office (Attendance) and greeting the public when they come on campus. This person would provide information as needed and issue parking permits and visitor badges. This person may also be asked to file attendance slips and perform small duties for the MVHS Admin. Staff and the MVHS PTSA while they are on duty. Time committment is 8:00-4:00 daily, but that can be broken up into 2 or 4 hour shifts.

118. Prom May; assist with set up and clean up
119. Safe School Initiative Committee member: research and promote initiatives to keep school a safe environment (no drugs/violence/etc.)
120. School Garden Late Fall 2008: Parents and students will help to build and fill planter boxes, spread and compacting "goldfines" for the walkways, plant the native plants, spread mulch, and hand water the plants for the first week after planting.

Elist Description:

MVHS teachers, parents, and student groups use elists to communicate about classes, after school activities, and volunteer work.

  • You can join as many elists with as many email addresses as you like.
  • If your email address changes, please update elist memberships:
    1. Sign up for (join) all your lists using your new e-mail addresss
    2. Leave all your lists using your old e-mail address
  • Forgotten which elists you're on? Fill in your e-mail address above and click on "Show me my elist subscriptions"
Exchange

Request + Confirmation:

When you join or leave an elist, we'll send you an email asking you to confirm your request. If you ignore the email, no action will be taken. This procedure prevents unauthorized changes.

Email for most elists is archived. To view these saved emails, click on Archives at the top of this page.

Privacy & Usage Policy:

  • You may not use any elist on this website to send advertising or solicitation materials.
  • We will never, under any circumstances, intentionally publish, sell, trade, or give away your name, email address, or any information you give us.
Burst

Don't worry, the system won't break...

  • If you join tthe same elist twice with the same email address, the system will figure it out. You won't get duplicate emails!
  • If you leave an elist of which you are not a member, you will not cause a problem.
  • If your email account is cancelled by your former ISP or employer, the system will delete your old email address from the appropriate elists.
